Hello there!

Welcome to the confessions of this former fatty. If you’ve opened this blog expecting it to be a quick fix, answer to everything, all knowing guide to losing weight , then I think this blog will disappoint you, sorry! There is no quick fix, there is no holy grail and there is no magic to losing weight.

This blog is simply my story and the summation of the years of dieting, failing and researching that have finally got me back into shape and healthy. I have gone from amateur enthusiast to fitness professional during this journey. All advice here is my own from my own experiences, both amateur and professional, and where professional/journal/medical information is used I cite all references giving those who did the graft their due. Please feel free to have a look around and also check out the Official KrissieKirby.com blog

Motivation, we all need it

June 6th 2013

No matter what that little negative voice says, you keep repeating this:

March 17th 2012

A little motivational poster that I found a while back; it's something I always come back to, to remind me why I'm on this journey.

On this page I'm going to add some motivational bits and pieces.

Something that I've found helpful in my own journey are quotes and sayings by others that you find randomly in books or on the net.  Sometimes they have been put into images.  Often I'd print these out or keep them on my desktop and have put those on the computer as my screen saver.

Everyone has days where they get down, everyone has days they want to give up. It's human nature and we are often too hard on ourselves to achieve something in a ridiculous short space of time. We beat ourselves up when those things that we wish to happen don't happen overnight, or within a week.  We need to take the pressure off ourselves a little. We need to take a moment and just be.

I have three key words that I've lived my journey by:

Imagination, Resolve, Determination.

Imagination - image what you want to be, what you can be, what you deserve to be.
Resolve - resolve to be that person that you have imagined yourself to be
Determination - this is the important one, be determined, let nothing (not even yourself) stand in your way.

Remember YOU ARE WORTH THE EFFORT and damn it you deserve to be the best you that you can be.  So whenever you have a moment of  motivation loss, hopefully there will be something here that you can get something from to lift you.

Be kind to yourself, you rock.

Much love
